LPR BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Call to Order

December 2021 Board Meeting Minutes (distributed via email)

Suspend reading of December BOD meeting minutes, no discussion, vote called by Pres and approved unanimously.

There were no corrections.

Approval of the December BOD Meeting minutes, vote called by Pres and voted approved unanimously.

Board Member Reports:

President – Peter Ridgeway

Peter contacted PCA to update records for LPR’s new Board.  Also discussed submitting reports to Dana Drysdale prior to the meeting, Board Members all agreed this is a good idea and will do so.  Discussion of future of Prieta Post will be deferred to a later date and potential formation of a task force group.  Peter has a list of five candidates for the task force.

Vice President – Kris Vanacore

More information on how long this purple tier will be in effect may be available after 1/8/2021.   Current premise that this will not change to allow even an outdoor GTG.  The Tyrolean Inn beer garden brunch is postponed until we can meet and dine outdoors.

I have sent a request to the West Wind Drive-in (San Jose) for more information on their group events and to see what movies are playing on our tentative 2/13 Saturday date.  Dependent on that info I will either postpone movie night or move forward with more information via social media, web, Facebook, and the Post to the general membership. Additional GTG’s will be reviewed in a timely manner dependent on the state of the pandemic.

Longer Term:  The 50+1 Anniversary is set for Saturday, June 19.  The picnic at Roaring Camp is in place for Saturday, July 17.  The Annual Awards Event will be at the Inn at Pasatiempo on Saturday, Dec. 4.

Kris has a revised a GTG White Paper that can be added to the Web. It is a generic document and does not reflect Covid’s effect on gatherings.

Secretary – Dana Drysdale

Nothing to report.  Minutes approach and timing is tentatively same as last year – preliminary based on written reports (Thank You Board), draft sent for comment, final sent for next meeting.

Discussion of CV-19 impact on new AXers and AX school – no ability to have new AXers or school due to no ability to have instructors in car.  Noted by all, regrets expressed.

Charity – Kathy Musser, Kris Vanacore, Emilie Highley

Toys for Tots was a success thanks to so many LPR members.   On the 14th of December (despite the Toys for Tots Willow Glen Light Tour being cancelled due to COVID), Tony & Kris Vanacore and Emilie Highley loaded up the Vanacore’s Cayenne with over 30+ toys. . . dolls, miniature cars, big cars, pastel sketching kits, puzzles, scooters, and more. . .    The official Toys for Tots ‘drop off’ site that we delivered to was Silicon Valley Moving & Storage where Cheri Childs and her team graciously accepted the toys.   Thank you LPR for your generosity – we are sure that these toys brought smiles to many less fortunate children.

Looking forward to 2021 Toys for Tots and the opportunity to have this event without any further complications from COVID-19!

Emilie Highley – Hospitality

The month of December we were saddened to learn that Paul Giannini passed away on November 25th.   Paul and his wife Nancy were members of LPR for many years before moving to Reno, Nevada.

A card was sent from the Club to Nancy and the family.  Ken Iles has been under the weather but is feeling better.

Hospitality wishes everyone to stay safe and healthy!
