Call to Order
President Dana called the meeting to order at 7:00PM.
June 2024 Board Minutes: President Dana asked the Board to approve the June 2024 Board minutes.
Ayes: 7 Noes: None Motion Passed
New Member Social: Please note that once again our Member Appreciation Picnic is an official New Member Social for PCA. We have or should receive the New Member Subsidy, it was approved. We marketed to new members and Honore reports we have many new members attending.
Hawaii Region 65th Anniversary: Hawaii region is holding a big party in September, reasonable rates. Please see the separate document attached if interested. (Attached in Dana’s email.)
Zone 7 Concours Series – LPR Be the Banker for the Trophies: Mentioned at a prior meeting, mentioning again because change must be complete by end of 2024. Z7 has to lose its bank account – this is a directive from PCA National. Zones are not to exist as separate business entities. If a Zone wants to run events, the financials have to run through a Region. For Zone Concours series, there is a fee assessed per participant to cover the costs of trophies, and the trophies are purchased. Z7 asked us to do the banking for Z7 Concours, and GGR will do the banking for Z7 AX. Last gameplan was to let Z7 finish this year’s Zone Concours, then close their account. Just keeping everyone up to date.
Discussion: Andy commented that we have a second checking account that we currently do not use. We can use it for the Zone 7 banking.

Please see Treasurer’s Reports for June, 2024, and year-to-date. It was a pretty quiet month financially as our only expenses were from Autocross and GTGs. We received one sponsorship check, and an AX deposit from Motorsports.reg.
I will be out of the country on vacation the entire month of August (sorry) and unable to process most payments during that time. Let’s discuss strategies for making sure we are able to fund our obligations in a timely manner while I’m away. I’m anticipating the usual AX expenses, and if anyone can think of anything else they’ll need to pay during August please let me know at Tuesday’s meeting. I can process payments to individuals using our bank’s mobile application, so long as I am provided with name, address and phone number. But payments to companies and organizations are problematic.
As always, if there are any questions or comments, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Nominations committee
Meetings proceeding on monthly cadence, next meeting 7/18. Goal is to have nominations complete by August BOD meeting
New National bylaws review
Would like to put the addition of the AX and Communications director to a BOD vote prior to finalizing bylaws rewrite for BOD approval. A brief rationale and role description:
AX Director –
Rationale: AX represents a very large portion of LPR’s activities and budget/expense. Elevating the AX chair to the BOD would give additional visibility to AX activities and make the role commensurate with the level of responsibility.
High level AX director duties: Schedule autocross dates and venues, coordinate with Zone 7 autocross chair to avoid conflicts. Manage course set up and coordinate volunteers and trailer for course set up and tear down. Ensure safety requirements are met, instructors are available, insurance and site/venue fees are paid by the Treasurer. Collect entry fees, publish results, ensure competition rules are followed.
Communications Director –
Rationale: Social media and web communication have become the primary means of reaching LPR’s current and future membership, this warrants a seat on the BOD given the importance this membership outreach.
High level Communication director duties: Coordinates communications team, including Website, POST, Bulletin / Blast and Facebook and other Social Media.
Pros & Cons of additional BOM positions
Pros
Cons
LPR policies and procedures update
Goal is to submit for BOD approval in parallel with bylaws rewrite. Still pending some inputs, I’ve contacted those individuals who need to provide feedback.
Discussion: Dana stated that if there is no one that wants to be considered for a board position, it does not need to be filled. Once the ByLaws rewrite is completed, it will need to be approved by PCA National before we place it on the ballot for LPR membership vote.
Proposal: Homer proposes the addition of the AX Director to the Board of Directors. This change will be added to the ByLaws rewrite for PCA National approval and LPR membership ballot vote. Second: Kathy Ayes: 7 Noes: None Motion passes

I just put the July/Aug Prieta POST to bed.
I am very proud of this particular issue, especially because it has really great content contributed by Doris Britschgi, the Calvins via an interview format, Dana’s DWF, the best one yet IMO. Good Porsche MotorSport content — done remotely — read the first part of the story for the back story! An accomplishment is that I have authorization by IMSA to use their logo’d low res photos from their extensive galleries for races — just like you were there!
Work starts on the Sept/Oct issue. Sneak peek… big time WERKS focus — still looking for that unique story, but confirmed that it will contain an interview with Vu Nguyen while he is WERKS. For sure will have reviews of our Annual Picnic at Roaring Camp, maybe some updates on LPR AutoX events, and Dana’s blowout GTG event at the Cupertino Hills Swim and Racquet Club. Ideas are still a bit cloudy, but with content contributed by YOU ALL, or more correctly, ALL YOU ALL, the issue could be epic!
Again, thanks to Doris Britschgi for her proofreading and suggestions, assisted by Dana this issue. They even caught a number of needed corrections from Zone 7 website content!! Nothing gets pass those folks.
Absent – Report submitted by John Reed
A From the Regions photo/caption should appear in the August Panorama. Stand by.
I could use help with updating the local LPR info boards. Thanks!
(We are looking for someone to take this position – basics are sending photos, possibly an article into Panorama. John is happy to continue taking pictures, but anyone should feel free to take photos.)

The Observer’s Reports for the June 8th autocross and the June 16th tour were sent to PCA in a timely manner. Thank you to Ed Tefankjian and Hugh Calvin. The release forms were sent to the LPR Activities Director for the LPR archives.\
