Also, attached are the budgets for the 2025 Annual Picnic and the Awards Banquet – I am requesting a budget for the following:

Awards Banquet – I am requesting a budget of $12,000 for this event – budget spreadsheet for 2025 Banquet is attached (this is based on 2024 actual income and expenses).

FYI, I am exploring alternative venues for the Awards Banquet.  Attendance was lower this year, and we’re considering hosting the event in the San Jose area to potentially attract more participants.  I’ll follow up with additional information as soon as it’s available.  In the meantime, if anyone has venue suggestions, I’m open to ideas!

The club essentially broke even in 2024, incurring a very small deficit of $462, which is about as close to breakeven as I think we can get!

Membership – Don Minami

My current activities are to: learn what a Membership Chairperson is supposed to do; figure out how to transfer someone into LPR from another region; figure out what to do with two large rubbermaid tubs of old LPR binders and documents; find a way to deliver over a hundred unclaimed LPR badges; and streamline LPR Membership enrollment documents with hyperlinks to LPR websites and eliminate mailing USPS letters.

Discussion:  Suggest Don provide a list of badge names to Dana Drysdale and Dave Dunwoodie.  Dave will see if some badges may belong to Autocross participants.

Chairperson Reports:

Autocross – Dave Dunwoodie/Co-Chair Homer Pitner

Not much to report, we still have a solid schedule with 9 events for 2025. One change to note this year for our Zone 7 weekends, LPR is the host Saturday June 14th in Salinas and I would like to apply for a 3 event/2 region subsidy for a dinner possibly at Casa Sorrento Pizzeria. That would cover about half the cost of the dinner so I would need board approval for the rest once I get their pricing and make sure they are available on our date.

LPR 2025 AX Schedule
Mar 16th – Crows
Apr 12th – LPR – Salinas
Apr 26/27 School – Alameda

  1. As reported earlier, one of our long-time members, George Jensen passed away.   A card has been sent to the family.     George and Virginia participated in many LPR events in past years
  2. Angie Reed – I have spoken to Angie on a regular basis.   I have the picture of her and John (PANO) to share with her.
  3. June Iles – June is doing well.   In January, she was ‘crowned’ Resident of the Month at Sonnet Hills.   June welcomes visits from LPR members.
Prieta Post Editor – Don Chaisson

With regards to the Jan/Feb POST, the issue was viewed by 179 readers as of this morning, with the usual peak right after publishing with 108 readers on day one.
The analysis of “time on page” showed:
        *       Unusual amount of time spent on Miscellaneous Ramblings and Back Story: an Editorial…. Was it something that I said???
        *       good time spent on UPCOMING events.
        *       Folks read the story of new member Mike Wenstrand.  (Would love to continue the feature highlighting new members)
        *       good time spent on the Autocross article
        *       The report on Ole Amigos Tour in Memory of John Reed — good job Greg !!!
        *       disappointing — time on the Annual Banquet. No clue on why… unless all usual readers were there??

Starting to plan for the Mar/Apr issue.
        *       Thinking of pipping the Porsche Brunch at Alice’s Restaurant.
        *       Some Porsche auto sports (Porsche Sprints (which I hope to attend) and report on Daytona 24 Hours (which one day I will attend !)
        *       Report on EVO magazine’s Car of the Year.   Great cars reviewed, one stood out.
        *       I’d love to do a report on the first two Thirsty Thursdays..  I’ll attend the 3/13 in Saratoga.   Would someone volunteer to write up the Beer Thirty event on 2/13?   It would be fun to make it a COMPETITION for enthusiasm???

I will not be able to attend this or several more board meetings.   I am taking a Continuing Education class on Graphic Design (every Tuesday for 18 weeks) in hopes I can learn something to help the POST’s visual appeal.

Public Relations – Dana Drysdale

Submission for John Reed was already posted, so will wait another couple of months to make another submission.

Safety – Open

Open Position for Safety Chair.

However, Hugh sent in Observer’s Report for Toys for Tots tour.   No Autocross events, so no report needed.

Tour – Hugh Calvin

BoD authorized Tour fee waivers for tours in 2024.

Toys for Tots Tour was held on 1-Dec

Hugh sent in Observer’s Report.

Tours on the Calendar for 2025:  Forest Bathing Tour (15-Jun), Jacob’s Heart Tour (20-Sep), Overnight Lake Tahoe Tour (27-28-Sep), Toys 4 Tots (23-Nov), Ole Amigos Tour (TBD), Joint Tour with MBR (TBD).

Discussion:  Hugh would like to permanently eliminate the $5.00 per car Tour fees.   The fees were originally established to make certain that people would commit to attending the tour.   In the past couple of years with no fees; there was no attendance issues.

Proposal:  Dana Drysdale makes a motion to permanently eliminate the $5.00 Tour fees.  Second: Honore Ayes: 6   Noes:  None  Motion passes

Social Media – Dana Ambrisko

Here is the Social Media Chair report for the January 2025 Board Meeting:

  • December Mid-month Blast sent on the 15th

      • Total Num Address = 511 Total Num Opted out = 12 Total Num sent = 499
  • Jan/Feb 2025 Prieta POST sent January 10th
    • Emailer Statistics
      • Total Num Address = 511 Total Num Opted out = 13 Total Num sent = 498
  • January Mid-month Blast will be sent on or around the 15th

Discussion:

  • Dana Ambrisko stated that the Blast emails can only be sent to personal email addresses per National set-up.
  • Dana Ambrisko noted that the Blast statistic totals captured do not match with membership size of 600 (less 12 Opted out). We are missing about 100 members.  Jim Turk will send the National emailer person’s contact information to Dana to assist is solving the issue.
