The only change is that we will hold May 8th, Thirsty Thursday, at Balefire Brewery, 21517 E Cliff Dr, Santa Cruz, CA 95062. Dana Drysdale, Peter Ridgeway, Jim Turk, Andy Ward and I had a trial run “Thirsty Wednesday” and it turned out to be a very nice location with lots of parking. I have sent out messages to change the location on the Calendar/Post/Blast and Facebook.

Thank you for your reports in advance of the meeting!
Just a heads up that I will be traveling in Europe next month, from March 10 through March 31st. If there are any expenditures that we can plan in advance that would be helpful. And assuming Dana is willing I can put him in charge of the checkbook while I am away, in case we need to make a payment to an entity or business. I can make reimbursements to members via the mobile application, which takes care of many if not most of our payments. But we don’t have that set up for external entities.

Membership totals declined slightly during January. I assume this is a seasonal thing because
PCA is reporting many new members joining during the beginning of February.
I continue to struggle with gathering information from the PCA mainly because I am trying to use
an iPad to navigate through a Windows centric world. Gratefully, Jim Turk has been guiding me
though the byzantine catacombs of PCA.org, One Drive, iCloud, Google Drive, et al.
And our email service, Roundcube, doesn’t seem to like iPads either. Bottom line is my iPad Pro
is a knife in a gun fight.
Boy! Am I a grumpy old fool? Yes, but I will persevere or maybe breakdown and buy a PC.

Received feedback from PCA National on 2nd draft of LPR bylaws. Minor changes and corrections made and
resubmitted 3rd draft on Feb 7th.
Nominations committee
No activity as of yet, pending response from BOD. I would like to remind the BOD that we are operating under the
current bylaws where the member at large chairs the nominating committee. The proposal put forth was to
prototype the new process in advance of new bylaws approval and implementation in 2026.
Nothing to report. Looking forward to March 16th AX #1.

The Charity Committee will begin reaching out to Morgan Autism Center and Jacobs Heart to request their presence at the June 22nd Porsche Historic event. We would like for our charities to have a table/booth set up with media, etc. Kathy Musser will work with Jacob’s Heart. Kris Vanacore and Emillie Highley will work with Morgan Autism. Our first step is to ask them to save the date with whatever details we can provide them at this point. Stay tuned for updates!

The Mar/Apr issue is in work with a cover story about the history and essence of the Porsche Brunch —Alices in Woodside by the Grialou’s (with some packaging by the editor) and a recent addition of a “remembrance” story by John D’Angelo — thank you Honore for suggesting John help the POST with this article, which is being shared with the Early 911S Registry magazine, “The Esses”. My review of the 2025 Daytona 24 Hours Race and a Tech Article about doing a front brake pad and rotor job on a Cayman (pretty much the same as 997/991 Carerras). The Editorial is about my adventures with Waymo in San Francisco.
We should be getting into more LPR-centric content when we have some tours and more Thirsty Thursdays perhaps, and maybe a couple surprises on more local Porsche racing and car information.
I will not be able to attend the meeting (again) as I’m still double booked with a Graphic Design class (somewhat of a disappointment, but will continue to soldier on for a while.
Nothing to report.
No current tours or Autocross events, so no safety reports were needed.
There were no Tours in January.
Tours on the Calendar for 2025: Forest Bathing Tour (15-Jun), Jacob’s Heart Tour (20-Sep, tentative), Overnight Lake Tahoe Tour (27-28-Sep, tentative), Toys 4 Tots (23-Nov), Ole Amigos Tour (TBD), Joint Tour with MBR (13-Sep).
