Chairperson Reports:
Advertising – Peter Ridgway
Nothing to report.
Autocross – Anne Roth & Dave Dunwoodie
LPR was able to add an additional date to the AX 2020 Schedule at the Cow Palace. Request was made for additional insurance. Not yet rec’d
The date is Saturday, October 3rd. Contract was signed by John Reed, last invoice with additional date fees has been rec’d and submitted to Margie Jensen.
All details for the Aug 30 event at the Cow Palace have been tended to and we
deal with whatever crisis may present itself as quickly as we can. It continues to be a fluid situation. Fees to PCA members (no PCA discount) will be $75.
There will be additional costs incurred with each AX date. Costs that are NOT included in the Cow Palace fees, but additional items/services we are mandated to have. Porta Potties, Security, sweeping, trailer transport. We will split costs with GGR on those AX dates that are part of Zone 7 weekends.
Invoices for these services/items will be submitted when rec’d.
$48.80 to pay Cow Palace, proposed Margie, Bob seconded, no discussion voted unanimously.
Anne & Dave have been working with GGR and Lotus to coordinate the success of all the AX events which reinforces our group respectability with the venues and ensures ongoing good will.
Charity – Kathy Musser, Kris Vanacore, Emilie Highley
Given where we are at this time with the Covid 19 Virus, the Oct. 3 Jacobs Heart Charity Tour will not most likely not happen. The Charity Committee has researched “virtual”events but hasn’t found anything that remotely sounds interesting. So we are looking at setting up a GoFundMe site. We would also like to initiate a matching program or a donation through LPR.
Upon checking the Policies and Procedures under Duties of Chairpersons, Section C, number 3, Charity: “Planning for charity events or activities shall not encumber existing established LPR events or activities.” In other words, charity events must be separately established.”
I read this as we can’t donate monies made at a non-specified charity event to a charity i.e. monies made at a GTG cannot be donated to charity. Others, read this as no club money can be donated to charities.
I propose that we clarify the P&P to read, “LPR may, upon Board approval, donate monies to separately established charity events.” Thus, the Policies and Procedures under Duties of Chairpersons, Section C, number 3, Charity would read : “Planning for charity events or activities shall not encumber existing established LPR events or activities. In other words, charity events must be separately established. LPR may, upon Board approval, donate monies to separately established charity events.”
Margie proposed the amendment, Bob seconded, no further discussion, voted unanimously.
Emilie Highley – Hospitality
A sympathy card was sent to Sue Petticrew and family . . . Sue recently lost her husband, Richard, who was a long time LPR member and retired to Arizona a few years ago.
Prieta Post Editor – Kat Hsueh & Chris Dyer
Our August issue is live and Chris has created a new “member profile” column that I think will be interesting and fun. This month, Chris Markham wrote about himself and supplied some photos.
If anyone wants to be profiled. I don’t mind if they want to write it themselves, or if they want it more of an interview type thing, I can do either.
We’ve received some good feedback on the new POST, seems it’s going over well.
