VA Hospital Car Show and Lunch, May 24:
Connected with new contact Julia Victor, she is good and confirming with Security.
Format: Car show, meet the Veterans, lunch from Togos.
Missy and Honore volunteered to go to Togos for pickup.
Togos was a club expense, under $500 last year, could be more with more participants.
Any interest in changing format or questions, please let me know.
Porsche History Day, June 22:
Display Car sign-ups (996 / 986 and earlier) going well – 34 so far.
We need 70s 80s 90s, transaxle. 356 and early 911 still good to get those, too.
Still some approvals to get from Penske, all is going well.
Updated map and draft car badge attached. (See Appendix A below)
Steve Douglas is our creative genius and idea man, connector to many people.

Nine members from our region failed to renew their PCA membership (five primary and four co-members).
Three members transferred out of our region.
Four people new to the PCA chose our region (three primary and one co-member).
The net change to LPR membership was negative eight (-five primary members and -three co-members) This is very troubling and the loss of membership is looking like a trend.

Our 1st AX at Crows went very well with 62 drivers getting 10 runs on a long course designed by Tara Shapowel-Lau.

The mid-March bump in readers wasn’t sharp, but there has been a nice background readership of the Mar/April issue of the POST. Overall total readers were 268. Time on pages indicate folks spent time on the Year Calendar, the featured articles on Porsche Brunch, John’s First Love and Tech Corner (brake job). Not many readers spent a lot of time on the Dayton race. I still consider coverage of Porsche Motorsports to be integral to the POST’s role reflecting all things Porsche so race coverage will continue — even if only for a portion of the region’s membership — editorial privilege!
Work is beginning on the next issue. (Cover photo below). Major articles will be our Macan EV test drive, a highlight of Noel Eberhart, an interesting friend of Dana who showed up at a Thirst Thursday at Jakes, Porsche Sprints at Sonoma with interviews with Bruce Todd of BR Racing, and with a friend of mine, Nico Castellaccio of Migliore Motorwerks who will be providing support for a Cayman GT4RS (actually, I’ll meet up with Nico’s wife, Victoria, who has a lot of background information about the sport! — Like, who just bought Wright Motorsports!)
If anyone is going to the Porsche Brunch and would like to search out a STORY… not just pictures, though photos would help, feel free to submit an article and I’ll see if I can get it in the coming issue. I’ll be at Sonoma for the Sprints.
Photo of John and Honore in regards to Hall of Fame of award is expected to be in Panorama and the Prieta Post.
Ed Tefankjian submitted the LPR AX Trailer Safety Checklist/Inspection report for 2025. All was in serviceable condition.
No Tours were conducted during March.
re: The Overnight Tour to Lake Tahoe. We need accommodations and a place to eat after we arrive, and we’ve identified both.
The Lodge requires LPR to sign a contract to reserve a block of rooms and guarantee 80% of the rooms we need. We’re planning to limit the Tour to 16 cars, so we need to occupy at least 13 rooms. The Lodge wants each party to make their own reservations at least a month before the Tour. After that, they will release any rooms not reserved. If we don’t meet the 13 reservations obligation a month before the Tour, LPR would be on the hook to pay the difference at around $250/room. I’d like to get the LPR Board to underwrite this contract.
Tours on the Calendar for 2025: Forest Bathing Tour (15-Jun), MBR Oktoberfest Tour (13-Sep), Jacob’s Heart Tour (20-Sep), Overnight Lake Tahoe Tour (27-28-Sep), Toys 4 Tots (23-Nov), Ole Amigos Tour (TBD).
Here is the Social Media Chair report for the April 2025 Board Meeting:
April Mid-month Blast will be sent on or around the 15th
Renewed an old contact for last year and we might have another new
sponsor BUT…
I’d like to discuss tonight. It’s Beeline Motor Club in Santa Cruz.
I’m usually reluctant to sign multiple sponsors that service a small
geographic area and we already have Hayes European.
Usually I like to check with the existing sponsor to make sure they are
OK with it. I haven’t had a chance to visit yet. Had a lot of personal
issues last month.
Anyone heard of Beeline Motor Club? They have a nice website and
supposedly do great work.
Discussion: Positive response to include Beeline Motor Club as a sponsor. They work primarily on older, unique and fun cars, so will not conflict with Hayes European. Peter, Andy, Honore, and Dana will plan a visit.
Discussion: Update on Porsches and Pastries: About 260 cars. Our booth stood out, and we have a potential to have 4-5 new members. Separate note: Diablo Region may propose gathering Tour chairs with the other regions to discuss tips and practices.
