Brews and Blues at Mr. Mojitos

It was an excellent night shared by all at Mr. Mojito’s with over 30 LPR members in attendance and another 20 friends and neighbors Rocking to the music of the BluesRockers.

On a clear January Saturday, we had plenty of room and the heat lamps were our friends on the Patio at Mr. Mojitos in San Jose. With two LPR members in the band, the music was fantastic (honestly), and thanks to Mr. Mojitos the food was great and the drink choices abundant.

Huge thanks to Bill Weir who sponsored his band that played for the group without cover, which was very generous as the entertainment was outstanding (who knew Bill had a great voice?!). If you’re a fan of classic and modern blues, and you missed the show, trust us and be on the lookout for the Blues Rockers. In addition to Bill on vocals and guitar, our very own Greg Sickal plays drums and percussion in the band.

Thanks to Dana Drysdale and Peter Ridgway, we were also able to secure several parking spaces right up front. Dana and Peter arrived early to block off space for several LPR Porsches (and bravely fended off angry bikers and maybe a shopping center owner in the process). [Ed. I’m pretty certain that with plenty of TLC, the cone that got flattened by the driver of the white van will recover – probably in time for the annual Kill-A-Kone AX fundraiser. Maybe we can get the van driver to donate?!? Anyone get a plate number?]

Thank you to all who made generous donations to the Starry Starry Night event hosted by Morgan Autism Center in May [Ed. May 6, 2023]. We collected 15 bottles of wine and the Dunwoodie’s made a generous donation of $100.

Lots of good fun was had by all and to those who made it, thank you for being able to attend this extraordinary event.
