A Unique Automotive Resource Serving Northern California
In mid-2008, Borelli Motor Sports opened for business in San Jose’s Club Auto Sport as a highly secure, premier-class storage solution for car collectors. The company was designed to serve serious collectors, hobbyists and amateur racers who recognized how valuable their cars had become and were looking for a secure, climate-controlled facility to store them in. But as with all good ideas in this valley of innovation, over time the Borelli Motor Sports concept has morphed and expanded along with the growth of Club Auto Sport into something unique that can’t be described in a single sentence.
• An extraordinary automotive service and repair shop that attracts owners of Porsches and other high-performance automobiles not only from throughout Northern California, but also from as far away as Southern California and Arizona — with the car owners attracted by the incomparable skills and experience of widely known technicians such as Scott Riechers, David Graff and Chris Drysdale
• Race headquarters for car rentals, prep and trackside support for a growing number of serious amateur racers as well as novice drivers who enjoy testing their skills on track-driving days
• A premier-class storage facility with multiple levels of security, fire suppressant systems, personal webcam viewing, and available services such as battery charging, monitoring of fluid levels and tire pressures, periodic startups and runs, and more
• A gathering place for auto enthusiasts attending car club tech sessions, fundraisers such as the Loma Prieta Region’s 2011 Annual Charity Event, social mixers, and corporate events.
“Borelli Motor Sports has grown and evolved a great deal over the years,” said Ralph N. Borelli, president. “Our customers have really mapped the course for us. As people tell us what new services and capabilities they want, we’ve responded to their needs. And in everything we do, we try to ensure top-shelf quality.”
Unmatched Porsche Service
Riechers was with Dave’s German Auto in San Jose for more than three decades before making the move to Borelli Motor Sports. The ASE-certified technician is considered one of the very best at his craft, and can handle anything from complete engine rebuilds and drive-train or electrical work to regularly scheduled maintenance.
Together, Riechers, Graff and the other Borelli Motor Sports technicians help Porsche owners achieve exceptional performance, maximum drivability and the utmost safety.
“One of the unique ways we operate is by offering owners direct access to the technicians who work on their vehicles,” said Addison Lee, general manager of Borelli Motor Sports. “You can stand side-by-side with Scott or Dave as they inspect your car and discuss the various options. It’s this personal touch and commitment to quality that ensures your satisfaction in a job well done.”
Professional Race Support
The racer’s edge at Borelli Motor Sports begins with Chris Drysdale, who is an expert at customizing and fabricating race cars. As both a former driver and pro pit crew chief, Drysdale knows his way around a track. He has built a number of race cars and trucks from the ground up, and takes the lead in providing expert race prep services and truly professional on-track support.
Borelli Motor Sports owns a fleet of cars — ranging from “starter” Mazda Miatas to a Corvette Z06, Mustang GT or even vintage NASCAR race cars or a Radical sports racer — and drivers are welcome to rent most of them. All rental cars are prepared for the track with both maximum safety and performance in mind — including race seats, five-point harnesses, roll bars, R-Compound tires, coilover suspensions, racing brake pads and fluid, weight-saving modifications, and more.
The company transports its rental cars, and will also safely trailer personal cars to and from tracks all over Northern California. Borelli Motor Sports even offers a “fly-and-drive” service, flying customers to and from the track to cut down on travel time. And for track fans who know that the whole driving-day experience is almost as much fun as the actual time on the track, Borelli offers a luxury motor coach for the best trackside hospitality in the area.
Last, if a driver wants to improve his or her skills, Borelli Motor Sports has a stable of young professional drivers — such as Max Hyatt, Perry Richardson and Addison Lee — who can be engaged.
“These pro drivers are great at helping those who are new to racing — or simply want to refine the skills they already have — to get the most out of their track driving experience,” Borelli remarked.
Secure Storage and More
Car collectors, hobbyists, track aficionados, and others who find that trying to store their cars in their garages, neighbors’ garages, at work, or in dusty warehouses is risky and highly inconvenient appreciate Borelli Motor Sports’ numerous storage options.
The company’s premier Showcase storage service includes:
•
• Closed circuit cameras, inside and out
• Password-protected live webcam viewing of the owner’s collection
• 24x7x365 access to cars
• Sophisticated storage lifts and service lifts
• Full heating and air conditioning
• The latest in fire detection systems
• Complete upkeep and maintenance services
Secure, indoor economy rentals are also available. Among the many extra touches that Borelli Motor Sports offers are amenities such as nitrogen inflation for tires, racing fuel onsite, oil recycling onsite, free loaner vehicles, airport concierge service, guest waiting area with 7 video screens, space for car club meetings and other special events, and more.
“While we’re all about the cars at Borelli Motor Sports, we’re also about the people we serve and going the extra mile to ensure that our customers are satisfied,” noted Lee. “There’s only one way that we do things here — and that’s with an unwavering commitment to quality and providing Porsches and other high-performance, exotic or collector-grade automobiles the attention they deserve.”
