Please note that I am traveling from Monday, March 10 through March 31st, and will not be able to attend the BoD meeting. I will be able to process payments to individuals, such as reimbursements to board members for approved expenses, but will be unable to process any vendor payments until my return. I’m not expecting anything that can’t wait until then, but in the event that an unexpected payment needs to be made please see President Dana; he has signature authority at our bank as well as one of the club’s debit cards.

Summary for February
Eleven existing PCA members from our region failed to renew their PCA membership.
Two members transferred into our region from other regions but two transferred out resulting in a net change of zero members due to transfers.
Three people new to the PCA chose to join our region.
The net change in LPR membership was a negative eight (-8) members. This is very troubling if we want the LPR to grow.
Discussion: Dana Drysdale was informed from National that there was an error in the auto-renew program. Unfortunately, this resulted in dropping members. Try to reach out to these members to renew.

Earlier in the month, I made members aware of:
The passing of our friend and a long-time member, Terry Zaccone. I was not made aware of the date and time for services.
Also, Bill Jump, an LPR Member for years, lost his wife of 65 years in February. Memorial services for Mary Beth Jump took place on March 6th. I believe several LPR members were in attendance.
Cards were sent.
Discussion: Doug Ambrisko is recovering at home with broken ribs and scraps from a bike ride on Page Mill Rd. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

The Mar/Apr issue was published March 3rd. Readership had the typical bump on the first and second full day available. As of March 10, readership is up to 183 readers; or about half of the region’s primary membership total. With another Dana’s email bump on the 15th, we should see numbers that should approach “normal”. Our reader uptake generally spikes when published, falls off and bounces back up with Dana’s 2nd posting on her email blasts mid-month. I hope that will be the case for this issue.
Data for this initial update shows that the time folks spent on particular pages was also disappointing. Average time on the Porsche Bruch article was < 20 seconds. Same for John D’Angelo’s fine story about his Looks like few readers bothered with the Daytona race article or the tech article about my brake job.
We’ll see what happens with a mid-month bump from the email blasts.
All that said, I was really pleased with the variety of content, the flow of the issue and its quality. Thanks to Dana and Doris Britschgi for their hard work on the issue, and thanks to Carol and George Crialou for their article about the Porsche Brunch and John D’Angelo’s well written article on his new old 911.
I submitted the July/August issue to the PCA Newsletter contest. (See cover to recall the issue). Dana and I debated which issue we should submit, but settled on July/August because it was a good reflection of the quality and approach to our product. We look forward to the judging comments to get insight for future improvements.
Dana submitted the cover from the Nov/Dec issue. That cover photo was good photo-art, capturing the essence of a Porsche Tour with a single image. The green 912 motoring along the green tree covered road with a single contrasting color (the speed sign) jumps out for emphasis. Again, we’ll see what the PCA judges think.
I would like the board to consider bankrolling my access to Adobe Photoshop for a year. It enabled a dramatic “hero” shot for John’s article on Primo….
Cost. $22.99 per month. This would be in addition to the needed access to Adobe InDesign which also runs $22.99 per month. That would bring publishing costs to $45.98 per month.
Proposal: Homer makes a motion to approve published costs to $45.98 per month to access Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign Second: Honore Ayes: 5 Noes: None Motion passes
Nothing to report. The next submission with be a photo of John and Honore D’Angelo with Hall of Fame Award.
Nothing to report. No Tours or Autocross events in February.
Absent – Report submitted
No Tours were conducted during February.
Tours on the Calendar for 2025: Forest Bathing Tour (15-Jun), MBR Oktoberfest Tour (13-Sep), Jacob’s Heart Tour (20-Sep), Overnight Lake Tahoe Tour (27-28-Sep), Toys 4 Tots (23-Nov), Ole Amigos Tour (TBD).
Nothing technical to report. Been making inquiries regarding tech sessions this year. So far, no volunteers.
On another note, Fremont Porsche is pushing us to hold more cars and coffee at the dealership. We/I have signed up to “host” a joint C&C with Diablo on April 6th at the Fremont Hub mall. This will probably be a very well attended event. Diablo does some serious social media stuff. Diablo is also doing all the work. LPR just has to show up. I will bring a table and hang an LPR banner. I could use some assistance
to talk to people and maybe signup new members. I’m also in touch with the GGR events coordinator as well as Diablo’s event coordinator. There are some other possibilities to do joint events later this year. Stay tuned.
Sponsorship update:
10 of 13 sponsors have been invoiced. We should start collecting checks soon. I have deposited a $600 check from Don Wise. Total invoiced so far: $7200.
We lost BRRacing as a sponsor. Long story but basically Bruce was not seeing the kind of business he thought he should. I only know of 3 of us who did business with BRR. Let me know if any of you did as well. Bill Weir and I will go back to Bruce with a plan to try and rescue BRR as a sponsor.
I’m still trying to chase down the last two sponsors. They don’t answer their phones and I hate driving all over just to find them not there. This is not unusual. Possibly another $2000 if they renew.
We did sign up a new sponsor: The Wheel Guy. He gets great reviews from Dana and Ed T. for repairing curb rash on wheels. If you have some wheels that need cleaning up, give Brian a call and be sure to mention LPR.
Discussion: Since the Cars & Coffee County location for June and October is not agreeable, Peter suggested changing the location to be at Fremont Porsche. Peter will confirm the dates with Fremont Porsche.
Meeting adjourned by President Dana at 7:40 PM
