President Bob Morgan

Bob Morgan

President

Porsche Ownership History: I’ve wanted a 911 since 1970 when I saw my first one up close, but I really fell in love with Porsche when I saw Steve McQueen’s movie “Le Mans” in 1971. I finally bought a Silver 1979 911SC Targa in 1999, a Red Wine Metallic 1982 911SC Targa in 2004, and my current one is a Cobalt Blue Metallic 1999 911 Carrera Cabriolet. Her name is Sally.LPR PCA.
History:
I joined the Porsche Club in 1999, with my wife, Karen as affiliate. We attended our first LPR event in September that year, and felt so welcome we had to come back. I’ve been on the Board of Directors, in various roles, from 2001 through 2009 and now again, serving as President.
Favorite Weekend Drive: Laguna Seca! I remember watching Mark Donohue win a Can-Am race at Laguna Seca in the Sunoco 917. When I joined PCA, I was hoping to get to drive a parade lap just to see what the corkscrew was like. I thought I’d died and gone to heaven when I drove there in my first Driver’s Education event.
Conversation Starter: How do you like how your Carrera handles?

Porsche Ownership History: I bought our first Porsche and joined LPR in 2006.  It was a 1984 911 Carrera Whale Tail, bought and shipped, sight unseen, from Phoenix AZ to our home in Redwood City.  Next, in 2009, came a sweet, guards red 1993 911 Cabriolet with camel leather and only 29,000 miles on an immaculate sixteen year old car!  These days Hal is driving a jet black 2005 997 Carrera.  Until he retired from banking in 2013, the 997 was his daily driver, making work in the Santa Cruz Mountains an awesome commute!
LPR PCA History: A Member since 2006 with his wife, Diana. A Good Time Gathering host at least twice per year, Hal participates in tech sessions, tours, and social events.
Favorite Weekend Drive: A wine tasting weekend through Alexander Valley to the Little River Inn in Mendocino, CA.
